What matters to us
One of the primary functions of CRANAplus is to represent the views of our members.
CRANAplus provides the remote and isolated health workforce with the opportunity to be part of a network and community of like-minded health professionals.
Our aim is to provide contemporary, practical and contextual information, and advice for individuals and employers, practising and providing services in the unique remote and isolated settings.
With a strong commitment to safety and quality we developed Professional Standards for remote and isolated practice in Nursing & Midwifery and a Clinical Governance Guide for remote health services. Validation of Professional Standards of Remote Practice for nurses and midwives is currently under development.
We endeavour to ensure that the unique context and remote perspective is voiced at a range of forums through our extensive links with Commonwealth and State Governments, political groups, and other Professional and workforce organisations.
We develop Position Papers on a range of contemporary health issues and engage with our membership to capture their expertise and experience in remote context of practice to inform our position papers.
The remote workforce is a key priority, and we develop a range resources for all potential employees/ employers. The Pathways to Professional Practice resource, provides guidance and advice for new graduates or those new to remote practice.
Remote clinical scholarships are available for undergraduates to gain experience in a remote setting. We welcome engagement with student networks, particularly the NRHSN & ASANNA and opportunities to support our future workforce.
The Remote and Rural mentoring program supports those ‘new’ to remote, including students.
CRANAplus recognises excellence and expertise while capitalising on the collective wisdom of our members through CRANAplus Fellowship.
We celebrate remote practice through our annual Awards, in recognition of remote health professionals who have made a significant contribution to improving health outcomes for consumers or making an outstanding contribution to their profession.
CRANAplus has a commitment to research. We work with interested partners to undertake research specific to our members needs, and support multiple research activities through our extensive networks.
