$99,079 per annum

The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking motivated, professional and suitably qualified persons to join our team as a Community Health Nurse within the Indian Ocean Territories Health Service (IOTHS) based on Christmas Island.

Our ideal applicant is highly motivated, adaptable and willing to be actively involved in health promotion activities. The successful candidate will also be required to participate in a clinical roster, providing nursing care in the hospital setting.

The Community Health Nurse is responsible for providing community nursing care to clients consistent with primary health care principles and practices, providing support to disability services and home and community care clients, supervising and supporting Health Workers, providing clinical nursing services and coordinating tele-health services.

To be considered, applicants must be currently registered as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have recent demonstrable nursing experience in a rural and remote setting. Applicants must also hold a current ‘C’ class Driving Licence transferable to the Indian Ocean Territories and a valid Western Australian Working with Children Check. Language skills in the community languages of either Chinese or Malay are desirable.

Nurses with experience and /or qualifications in one or more of community health, health promotion, public health or chronic disease management are strongly encouraged to apply.
