Midwife/​Child Health Nurs­es Required!

Full & Part time posi­tions avail­able (full time based salary $104,604.00, pro rata for part time) 

Come work for Apunip­i­ma Cape York Health Coun­cil (ACY­HC) and engage in an excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty to con­tribute pos­i­tive health out­comes for the peo­ple of the Cape York region, as a key mem­ber of a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team, pro­vid­ing a diverse range of clin­ic and com­mu­ni­ty based services. 

ACY­HC is one of Aus­trali­a’s lead­ing Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled health ser­vices, deliv­er­ing a broad spec­trum of com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health­care ser­vices to 11 tra­di­tion­al com­mu­ni­ties of Cape York, in a cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate manner. 

These posi­tions will pro­vide direct and com­pre­hen­sive child health and mid­wifery ser­vices as part of a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary team deliv­er­ing com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices con­sis­tent with the Apunip­i­ma Way and Mod­el of Care, to max­imise health out­comes for the peo­ple of Cape York. 

The suc­cess­ful can­di­dates will be a Reg­is­tered Nurse/​Mid­wife reg­is­tered with AHPRA Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board — essen­tial. A Qual­i­fi­ca­tion in Child Health, IBCLC accred­i­ta­tion, PAP smear accred­i­ta­tion, Immu­ni­sa­tion Endorse­ment, ultra­sound and mid­wifery eli­gi­bil­i­ty is desirable. 

Demon­strat­ed com­pe­tence in clin­i­cal and prob­lem solv­ing skills at an advanced lev­el with the abil­i­ty to plan, coor­di­nate and eval­u­ate increas­ing­ly com­plex client care across the mater­nal and child health con­tin­u­um and a high lev­el knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence in deliv­ery of evi­dence based clin­i­cal and health pro­mo­tion­al activ­i­ties to Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander women, their part­ners and fam­i­lies dur­ing ante­na­tal par­ent­ing peri­od in com­mu­ni­ty based settings.
