We now have an excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty for a Senior Prin­ci­pal / Prin­ci­pal Research Fel­low to join our mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary team, ini­tial­ly on a fixed term appoint­ment to 31 Decem­ber 2022 in Mount Isa at the Cen­tre for Rur­al and Remote Health. 

What can you accom­plish in the Role

As an inte­gral part of our dynam­ic and pro­gres­sive team, you will have the unique oppor­tu­ni­ty to lead the devel­op­ment of the evi­dence base for over­com­ing major chal­lenges fac­ing rur­al and remote health and health work­force and con­tribute to the centre’s pri­ma­ry goal to improve the health of rur­al and remote Queens­land populations.

What will you bring to the Role 

A depth of under­stand­ing of the con­text and chal­lenges in rur­al and remote heath and a rel­e­vant research track record. Fur­ther devel­op­ing our strong col­lab­o­ra­tive net­work across mul­ti­ple sites in out­back Queens­land and beyond, you will lead strate­gic research and research edu­ca­tion rel­e­vant to rur­al, remote and Indige­nous health, health ser­vices and work­force that will improve the health and health ser­vices of those liv­ing in rur­al and remote locations

Cen­tre for Rur­al and Remote Health (CRRH), James Cook Uni­ver­si­ty (JCU) is part of a nation­al net­work of uni­ver­si­ty depart­ments of rur­al health in head­quar­tered in Mount Isa, with nodes Clon­cur­ry, Lon­greach and Weipa.
