Scholarships
Undergraduate Remote Placement Scholarships
Our undergraduate scholarships empower nursing, midwifery and
healthcare students to experience remote health firsthand by providing
up to $1000 to cover the cost of fares, travel and accommodation
associated with clinical placement. They are offered in two rounds each
year to current
CRANAplus student members enrolled as undergraduates in a health

Undergraduate Student Volunteer Conference Scholarship

Successful applicants to this scholarship will receive a 40% discount on their undergraduate student registration for CRANAplus' 2024 Remote Nursing & Midwifery Conference. They will also be involved as volunteers in conference activities involving collaboration and networking with CRANAplus Fellows, Nursing and Midwifery Roundtable members, and staff. Successful applicants will be responsible for all travel, accommodation and expenses related to attending.

Gayle Woodford Memorial Scholarship

Jointly sponsored by CRANAplus and Flinders University College of Medicine and Public Health, this scholarship covers all course fees for the Graduate Certificate in Remote Health Practice offered through Flinders University. It is awarded once annually, for study to commence the following year. Applicants must typically hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in a health related field. Scholarships will be awarded based on the likelihood and level of contribution the recipient will make to remote and Indigenous health
Grants
Nurses Memorial Foundation of SA Grants
Thanks to the generosity of the Nurses Memorial Foundation of South Australia Inc., we are able to offer a limited number of grants to assist CRANAplus members (registered as a nurse and/or midwife and working in a remote/rural area) who have attended our courses. The funds make learning accessible by contributing to the fees and costs associated with course attendance. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses are strongly encouraged to apply. Grants are provided as a reimbursement for CRANAplus courses being held between 1 July - 31 December 2024.

Country Women’s Association Rural & Remote Nursing/Midwifery PD Grant

The CWA PD Grant, in collaboration with CWA NSW, supports the development of rural and remote health professionals and students, particularly nurses and midwives. Applications are open to Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives and Enrolled Nurses who currently live in a rural or remote setting classified MMM 4-7, who work in a clinical role and are enrolled in a program of study, course, intensive or placement to gain new skills and knowledge relevant to their practice and setting. The PD activity must be undertaken within 12 months of application closing date.
