Launching your career

We work towards a strong, connected remote health workforce by offering students scholarships that provide financial support to cover costs like travel and accommodation during a remote clinical placement. We also provide guidance on the pathways and incentives for a career in remote health on our Pathway Incentives page, and offer a wide range of student member benefits.

Supporting your mental health

Our Bush Support Line offers free psychological support to students during clinical placement. CRANAplus also offers a free online course called Adapting Self-Care Practices During Clinical Placement to help students establish a self-care strategy, familiarise with available resources, and thrive during placement. Our LINKS Remote and Rural Mentoring Program can link students with an experienced professional who can provide guidance.

Building your knowledge

We regularly arrange free webinars on a wide range of topics, with panellists from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. It's as simple as registering to attend and then tuning in on the day! Our annual conference is also a great opportunity for students to pursue their professional development and start to build a network. Later on, when students have completed their studies and are ready to enter the remote health workforce, we can help with our many face-to-face and online courses and our curated list of external professional development opportunities.

Helpful resources for students

Below there is a collection of guides, websites and resources available to students, to support them in their pursuit of a career in remote health. These resources are a good starting point and will help you to become more qualified, informed and prepared to undertake your clinical placement and to effectively transition into the workforce. You might also be interested in what the National Rural Health Student Network has to offer to students interested in rural and remote health.
