Mindfulness is an important focus in current psychological thinking. The reason for the interest in mindfulness is because of the increasing volume of research findings that it is an extremely effective way to reducing stress. Moreover, a regular practice of mindfulness increases self-awareness and allows individuals the opportunity to deal with negative thoughts and feelings.

Mindfulness strategies involve focussing in on present experience. Curiosity rather than critical judgement is the key element. A regular mindful practice builds emotional and psychological resilience. It enhances overall satisfaction with home and work life.
