About the role

The role of Clin­i­cal Nurse Con­sul­tant Man­ag­er for the Shark Bay Health Cen­tre is a won­der­ful oppor­tu­ni­ty for a sea­soned man­ag­er or indeed an emerg­ing man­ag­er to lead a small health care team in a unique location.

This is a new role so the abil­i­ty to shape the role and the ser­vice you lead is a fab­u­lous oppor­tu­ni­ty that will be reward­ing but also at times challenging.

This posi­tion is full time and is offered on a fixed term con­tract basis for 12 months

About the Shark Bay Health Centre

  • Health Cen­tre is open from 0830 to 1630 Mon to Fri-pro­vides a full range of health care (Pri­ma­ry Care Model)
  • After­hours emer­gency ser­vice provided
  • Team of four staff ‑two remote area nurs­es and two office assistants
  • WA Coun­try Health Ser­vice pro­vides emer­gency tele­health and gen­er­al prac­ti­tion­er services

As an inte­gral part of the Sil­ver Chain Lead­er­ship team, you will;

  • You will man­age the over­all day to day oper­a­tion of the ser­vices and staff
  • Use your clin­i­cal knowl­edge and exper­tise to lead, man­age and sup­port staff to achieve and deliv­er safe, effec­tive and high-qual­i­ty care in line with the Sil­ver Chain standards.
  • Have respon­si­bil­i­ty for day-to-day clin­i­cal and oper­a­tional deci­sions includ­ing but not lim­it­ed to client & employ­ee issues, resource needs, advice with­in the police & pro­ce­dures, con­tracts and gov­er­nance sup­port­ed by the CNCM
  • Over­see the Shark Bay oper­a­tional budgets
  • Be client fac­ing when need­ed , includ­ing some on call
  • On call is shared with two oth­er nurs­ing staff

About you

We are look­ing for an expe­ri­enced /​emerging Leader with strong clin­i­cal skills .


  • Cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion with AHPRA
  • Clin­i­cal Nurs­ing expe­ri­ence in emer­gency or crit­i­cal care areas
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to lead, man­age and sup­port clin­i­cal teams
  • A flex­i­ble approach togeth­er with deci­sion mak­ing, nego­ti­a­tion, influ­enc­ing and advanced prob­lem-solv­ing skills
  • High­ly devel­oped com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills (writ­ten and verbal)
  • Cur­rent Aus­tralian dri­vers’ licence


  • Pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence in like role
  • Ter­tiary qual­i­fi­ca­tions in rel­e­vant field

Under the Aged Care act 1997, suc­cess­ful can­di­dates will be required to pro­vide a sat­is­fac­to­ry Nation­al Police Clear­ance pri­or to commencement.


  • Fan­tas­tic over­all pack­age includ­ing base salary, on call allowance, recall pay­ment – plus salary pack­ag­ing of up to $15,899 per annum
  • Qual­i­fi­ca­tions allowance — Eli­gi­ble employ­ees with a post grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tion will receive an addi­tion­al annu­al amount as a per­cent­age of their base salary
  • Sub­sidised fur­nished Accom­mo­da­tion and utilities
  • 5 weeks annu­al leave – pro rata. Option to pur­chase leave also (up to 2 addi­tion­al weeks)
  • Com­pre­hen­sive Sil­ver Chain induc­tion and ori­en­ta­tion pro­gram before you start your post at Shark Bay.
  • Relo­cat­ing from inter­state? Eli­gi­ble appli­cants, may have their relo­ca­tion costs covered
