Fol­low­ing an announce­ment by the Tas­man­ian Gov­ern­ment, a Pub­lic Health Direc­tion was issued on 10 Sep­tem­ber 2021 requir­ing that all Health Work­ers are vac­ci­nat­ed against COVID-19. This step is crit­i­cal in pro­tect­ing both our health work­force and vul­ner­a­ble Tas­ma­ni­ans in our care.

Appli­cants for any posi­tion with­in the Depart­ment of Health must be pre­pared to be vac­ci­nat­ed against COVID-19 as a con­di­tion of their employment.

Mul­ti­ple Per­ma­nent full time / part time shift work­er posi­tions com­menc­ing ASAP.

Base Salary: $66,421-$91,807 pro-rata per annum

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $85,950 — $91,807 is sub­ject to suc­cess­ful appli­ca­tion for pro­gres­sion to Grade 4
  • Salary range is in accor­dance with the Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2019 

On aver­age a Grade 3 Year 9 Reg­is­tered Nurse work­ing 64 hours per fort­night in this role can earn up to:

  • Base: $85,825 pro-rata per annum 
  • Per annum includ­ing penal­ty rates: $92,527.18
  • Aver­age per fort­night includ­ing penal­ty rates: $3,558.74

Our employ­er 10% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type
  • Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of up to $750 per annum 

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria:

  1. Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse.
