Applications are invited from motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Registered midwives with a commitment to clinical coaching and a keen interest in education and professional development to fill a Clinical Facilitator position in a permanent total time / part-time capacity at Mater Private Hospital, Mackay.

About the role

The Clin­i­cal Facil­i­ta­tor is sup­port­ed by the Edu­ca­tion Coor­di­na­tor of the Mater Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal, Mack­ay Prac­tice devel­op­ment team and Mater Edu­ca­tion. We seek moti­vat­ed mid­wives with con­sol­i­dat­ed and recent clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence who are inter­est­ed in pro­vid­ing sup­port and edu­ca­tion­al oppor­tu­ni­ties to novice and expe­ri­enced staff with­in the Mater Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal, Mack­ay. The posi­tion is for a mid­wife will­ing to chal­lenge their pro­fes­sion­al scope of prac­tice in an edu­ca­tion role whilst fur­ther devel­op­ing and sup­port­ing their team mem­bers in a best prac­tice mod­el of care.

What you’ll be doing

This oppor­tu­ni­ty will encom­pass broad and diverse coor­di­na­tion, pro­vi­sion and mon­i­tor­ing of unit-based and organ­i­sa­tion-wide edu­ca­tion, including

  • bed­side clin­i­cal coaching 
  • clin­i­cal skills devel­op­ment and competencies
  • online learn­ing sup­port & face to face manda­to­ry resus­ci­ta­tion assessments
  • revi­sion and imple­men­ta­tion of new poli­cies and mod­els of care
  • iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, imple­men­ta­tion and eval­u­a­tion of best prac­tice models
  • assist­ing with the devel­op­ment and facil­i­ta­tion of sim­u­lat­ed learn­ing opportunities 

About you

The suc­cess­ful appli­cant will pos­sess and demon­strate qual­i­ty com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills and pro­fes­sion­al role modelling.

Fur­ther, you will possess:

  • Cur­rent AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion as a Reg­is­tered Mid­wife (no restrictions)
  • Five years of expe­ri­ence in Midwifery

Desir­able Requirements:

  • Clin­i­cal super­vi­sion com­pe­ten­cy or pre­cep­tor­ship course
  • Cer­tifi­cate IV in work­place train­ing & assess­ment or post­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tions in teaching/​education
  • Sound com­put­er skills- MS Word, Pow­er­Point and excel
