About us

Anyinginyi Health Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion (AHAC) is a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary organ­i­sa­tion which pro­vides pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices to the Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple of Ten­nant Creek and the sur­round­ing Bark­ly region, ded­i­cat­ed to ʻClos­ing the Gap’ in Abo­rig­i­nal health with­in remote Australia. 

Anyinginyi con­sists of four dif­fer­ent sec­tions (Health Ser­vices, Busi­ness Ser­vices, Pub­lic Health Unit and Piliy­intin­ji-Ki Stronger Fam­i­lies) which allow them to have a holis­tic approach to health ensur­ing that clients’ phys­i­cal and emo­tion­al health and well­be­ing is giv­en the utmost priority. 

Anyinginy­i’s mis­sion is to be a provider of high qual­i­ty holis­tic pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices fea­tur­ing pre­ven­tion and treat­ment in the Bark­ly region in a cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive way.

About the Role 

The Clin­i­cal Ser­vices Man­ag­er pro­vides lead­er­ship, man­age­ment, and coor­di­na­tion of com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care to the Anyinginyi Health Sec­tion, ensur­ing cul­tur­al integri­ty and high stan­dards of clin­i­cal care and client flow. The posi­tion sits with­in the Health Ser­vices Sec­tion and leads a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team of Reg­is­tered Nurs­es, Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­ers and Allied Health Pro­fes­sion­als. The Anyinginyi Clin­i­cal Ser­vices Man­ag­er pro­vides oper­a­tional lead­er­ship to three clin­ics Gen­er­al, Men’s and Wom­en’s clin­ics with staff oper­at­ing in the clin­ic under a shared lead­er­ship arrange­ment with respec­tive man­agers, fur­ther­more, work­ing col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with all Anyinginyi Health Ser­vices and programs. 

About you

The Clin­i­cal Ser­vices Man­ag­er must be Reg­is­tered with AHPRA as a Reg­is­tered Nurse or Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­er with a min­i­mum of 5years’ post grade expe­ri­ence in Clin­i­cal Lead­er­ship and under­gone training/​qual­i­fi­ca­tions to pro­vide Vac­ci­na­tions with­in the North­ern Territory. 

A Sound under­stand­ing of the Nation­al Key Per­for­mance Indi­ca­tors (nKPI) for Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander Pri­ma­ry health care.
A thor­ough under­stand­ing of Abo­rig­i­nal & Tor­res Strait Islander cul­ture and tra­di­tions and abil­i­ty to sup­port the deliv­ery of cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive ser­vices and pro­grams. The Clin­i­cal Ser­vices Man­ag­er must main­tain proven exten­sive expe­ri­ence in clin­i­cal lead­er­ship and knowl­edge of qual­i­ty and accred­i­ta­tion includ­ing RACGP accred­i­ta­tion process­es and require­ments for pri­ma­ry health care services. 

Pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence with­in Remote Com­mu­ni­ties or specif­i­cal­ly the Ten­nant Creek Region will be high­ly regard­ed but not essential.

You will also need to pos­sess the following: 

Essen­tial skills and experience: 

  • Reg­is­tered with AHPRA as a Reg­is­tered Nurse or Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­er with a min­i­mum of 5 years’ post-grad­u­ate expe­ri­ence in Clin­i­cal Lead­er­ship and under­gone training/​qual­i­fi­ca­tions to pro­vide Vac­ci­na­tions with­in the North­ern Territory. 
  • Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence in col­lab­o­rat­ing with sta in reform prac­tices of imple­ment­ing new mod­els of care and work­force development. 
  • Proven exten­sive expe­ri­ence in clin­i­cal lead­er­ship and man­age­ment of a team that result­ed in the effec­tive deliv­ery of ser­vices to the com­mu­ni­ty, includ­ing the abil­i­ty to imple­ment strate­gic plans, analyse and address com­plex issues, and pre­pare reports and correspondence. 
  • Sound knowl­edge and under­stand­ing of pri­ma­ry health care ser­vice deliv­ery and sys­tems as they relate to the Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty and a demon­strat­ed com­mit­ment to Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Control. 
  • Knowl­edge of qual­i­ty and accred­i­ta­tion includ­ing RACGP accred­i­ta­tion process­es and require­ments for pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices, pro­gram eval­u­a­tion and the use of evi­dence-based prac­tices, finan­cial and human resource man­age­ment, con­sumer involve­ment and pri­ma­ry health care plan­ning processes. 
  • Excel­lent inter­per­son­al, writ­ten and oral com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, includ­ing the abil­i­ty to nego­ti­ate, col­lab­o­rate and facil­i­tate in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary environment. 
  • Cur­rent NT Dri­vers License. 
  • All Anyinginyi Health Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion employ­ees must be Ful­ly Vac­ci­nat­ed against COVID-19

Desir­able:

  • Mas­ter’s in pub­lic health or post­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tions in Health Admin­is­tra­tion or a relat­ed field 
  • Sound under­stand­ing of the Nation­al and North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry Abo­rig­i­nal Health Key Per­for­mance Indicators. 
  • Spe­cial inter­ests – Car­dio­vas­cu­lar Dis­ease, Dia­betes, Renal Med­i­cine, Sex­u­al Repro­duc­tive Health, Child Health etc.
