North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry Health has a unique oppor­tu­ni­ty for a Child and Fam­i­ly Health Nurse to join our mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary out­reach team to pro­vide child and fam­i­ly health clin­i­cal lead­er­ship and expert advice to remote based staff and com­mu­ni­ty organ­i­sa­tions to improve the health of chil­dren and fam­i­lies in remote com­mu­ni­ties across the Top End 

To be suc­cess­ful in this role you must have:

  • Cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion with Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Australia
  • Demon­strat­ed high­ly-devel­oped spe­cial­ist clin­i­cal knowl­edge and skill (child and fam­i­ly health) 
  • Demon­strat­ed use of effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills to influ­ence and con­vince staff and clients includ­ing sen­si­tive mat­ters requir­ing tact and diplo­ma­cy, for exam­ple to accept a dif­fi­cult sit­u­a­tion or nego­ti­ate con­flict resolution
  • Abil­i­ty and will­ing­ness to trav­el to remote areas on a reg­u­lar basis by road, light plane or fer­ry and stay for up to a week 
  • Post­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tions in child and Fam­i­ly Health and cre­den­tials to pro­vide immu­ni­sa­tions are high­ly desirable
