This posi­tion offers a career chang­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty for expe­ri­enced Dia­betes Edu­ca­tors to work with­in a dynam­ic team focussed on pro­vid­ing expert dia­betes clinical/​educational ser­vices to remote health cen­tres and clients. The ide­al appli­cant will work along­side the Health Cen­tre in part­ner­ship with the com­mu­ni­ty to devel­op qual­i­ty sys­tems that sup­port remote areas in the man­age­ment of dia­betes and vas­cu­lar disease. 

Expe­ri­ence dri­ving a man­u­al vehi­cle, a cur­rent NT man­u­al dri­ver’s licence and a will­ing­ness and abil­i­ty to trav­el by road or light air­craft to remote com­mu­ni­ties for nego­ti­at­ed peri­ods is required to ful­fil the inher­ent respon­si­bil­i­ties of this role.

You will be a reg­is­tered nurse hold­ing a cur­rent cer­tifi­cate of reg­is­tra­tion with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia. Post Grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tion and expe­ri­ence in Dia­betes Edu­ca­tion is required.
