Remote Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ties offer excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties for expe­ri­enced Pri­ma­ry Health Care Nurs­es to make a dif­fer­ence in the health of the com­mu­ni­ty. The posi­tions con­tribute to improv­ing the health and well­be­ing of fam­i­lies liv­ing in remote com­mu­ni­ties in the Top End. The pri­ma­ry objec­tive of these dynam­ic posi­tions is to work col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers and the broad­er mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary team in the deliv­ery of pre­ven­ta­tive health pro­grams — adult health, mater­nal health, under 5’s, youth & ado­les­cent health and man­age­ment of Chron­ic con­di­tions. These roles con­tribute to com­mu­ni­ty health action by tar­get­ing and improv­ing health out­comes, pro­mot­ing well­be­ing, treat­ing ill­ness, main­tain­ing health sys­tems and pro­vide edu­ca­tion and train­ing to com­mu­ni­ty based work­ers and junior staff members.

The local Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple are always will­ing to pro­vide edu­ca­tion, his­to­ry, and shar­ing of cul­tur­al knowledge. 

These posi­tions offer an excit­ing expe­ri­ence liv­ing and work­ing in remote com­mu­ni­ties in the Top End of Aus­tralia, There is many oppor­tu­ni­ties to enjoy camp­ing, off road tracks and explo­ration of the region.
