The Team — St Marys Community Health Centre
St Marys is a charming and relaxed township approximately 30 kilometres from the beautiful East coast of Tasmania and 128kms east of Launceston.
Easy access to an abundance of local beaches and bushland makes St Marys an enviable corner of the world and being close to Bicheno, Scamander and St Helens; is an easy commute to your workplace. Although small in area, St Marys is home to some beautiful architectural buildings thanks to its historic coal mining settlements and in addition to the hospital there is a Community Health Centre, local GP practice, pharmacy, caravan park, coffee shops, local galleries, craft shops and a supermarket – all managed by friendly locals.
Nestled within the picturesque Fingal Valley; surrounded by rain forests – imagine visiting the Evercreech Forest Reserve and Grey Mares Tail Falls. Or take a stroll through the White Knights’ walk – home to the world’s tallest manna (white gum) trees; visit the Coalminers’ Heritage Wall paying homage to the miners of the 1890s, and a leisurely drive allows you access to the world-renowned breath-taking Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park. Or you could spend a day in the Douglas Apsley National Park and hike to the magnificent Apsley Gorge. What’s that? You prefer mountain biking?? We have that too – come and immerse yourself in North-East Tasmania’s MTB trails on the fringes of St Helens and the famous tin mining town of Derby!!
