Alice Springs Hos­pi­tal — Nursing

Oppor­tu­ni­ties exist for Reg­is­tered Nurs­es to work in the Emer­gency Depart­ment at Alice Springs Hospital. 

Locat­ed in the rugged and beau­ti­ful cen­tre of Aus­tralia, the Alice Springs Emer­gency Depart­ment is unique due to the size of our catch­ment area (1 mil­lion square km’s) and pop­u­la­tion. Home to the Arrernte peo­ple, Alice Springs is a small town and embod­ies the quin­tes­sen­tial Aus­tralian spirit.

Our ED is a 43 bed depart­ment includ­ing three resus­ci­ta­tion bays, four high depen­den­cy bays and a pae­di­atric spe­cif­ic area. Nurs­es com­ing to our depart­ment will progress through all areas of the depart­ment with sup­port and tai­lored edu­ca­tion pack­ages to assist them in upskilling. Our friend­ly and com­mit­ted mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team work close­ly togeth­er to achieve the best out­comes for our patients

We are look­ing for pas­sion­ate, enthu­si­as­tic, ded­i­cat­ed reg­is­tered nurs­es who are able to adapt eas­i­ly and always pro­vide com­pas­sion­ate and patient focused care. Nurs­es apply­ing would need cur­rent AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion and an abil­i­ty to lead and co-ordi­nate client care result­ing in pos­i­tive clin­i­cal out­comes. Ide­al­ly you will have recent Emer­gency expe­ri­ence and expe­ri­ence in man­age­ment of high acu­ity patients.

Relo­ca­tion and quar­an­tine assis­tance may be avail­able if required. 

Expe­ri­ence dri­ving a man­u­al vehi­cle and a cur­rent NT man­u­al dri­ver’s licence and a will­ing­ness and abil­i­ty to trav­el by road or light air­craft to remote com­mu­ni­ties for nego­ti­at­ed peri­ods is required to ful­fil the inher­ent respon­si­bil­i­ties of this role”.

You will be a reg­is­tered nurse hold­ing a cur­rent cer­tifi­cate of reg­is­tra­tion with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Australia.
