Report­ing to the Man­ag­er of Remote and Pop­u­la­tion Health, your pri­ma­ry respon­si­bil­i­ty is deliv­er­ing cul­tur­al­ly aware and clin­i­cal­ly safe pri­ma­ry health­care ser­vices. The RAN posi­tion can be based at any of the Kather­ine West Health Board’s Health Cen­tres and will require you to par­tic­i­pate in an after-hours on-call ros­ter for acute and emer­gency responses.

About You!

First and fore­most, you will enhance our team with an opti­mistic, open-mind­ed, and proac­tive approach. You are also adapt­able, respon­sive to change, and able to exer­cise emo­tion­al intel­li­gence in your work­flow inter­ac­tions. Sig­nif­i­cant expe­ri­ence in a remote or region­al crit­i­cal health­care set­ting is para­mount — trans­fer­able skills may be con­sid­ered. You are a Remote Area Nurse, and you’ll enhance our team with: 

  • Rel­e­vant ter­tiary &/or post-grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tion in nurs­ing, mid­wifery, pri­ma­ry health care, men­tal health, emer­gency care, or similar
  • Acute care expe­ri­ence (e.g., emer­gency, ICU)
  • Basic/​Advanced life support
  • Able to com­plete a head-to-toe assessment
  • Cur­rent AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion (as a Reg­is­tered Nurse) 
  • OCHRE Card (or eli­gi­bil­i­ty to obtain)
  • Police Check (less than 6 months old or will­ing­ness to obtain)
  • Unre­strict­ed North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry Driver’s License (or will­ing­ness to obtain) + abil­i­ty to trav­el between our sites if required
