Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aspen Medical focused on providing healthcare in remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory, is seeking 2 x Remote Educator Clinical Coordinators in Alice Springs or Darwin, on a full-time permanent basis to deliver a positive placement experience that emphasises service and support to Health Professionals (HPs).

Estab­lished in 2008, the Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) is fund­ed by the Aus­tralian Gov­ern­ment. The pro­gram is designed to increase the pool of urban-based health pro­fes­sion­als (HPs) avail­able for work in Indige­nous com­mu­ni­ties by attract­ing, recruit­ing, and ori­en­tat­ing them and pro­vid­ing ongo­ing sup­port and train­ing to suc­cess­ful­ly assist the HP to make the tran­si­tion to remote practice.

Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC), a whol­ly-owned sub­sidiary of Aspen Med­ical focused on pro­vid­ing health­care in remote Indige­nous com­mu­ni­ties in the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry, is seek­ing 2 x Remote Edu­ca­tor Clin­i­cal Coor­di­na­tors in Alice Springs or Dar­win, on a full-time per­ma­nent basis to deliv­er a pos­i­tive place­ment expe­ri­ence that empha­sis­es ser­vice and sup­port to Health Pro­fes­sion­als (HPs).

Pri­ma­ry duties and responsibilities

  • col­lab­o­rate with the Trav­el and Logis­tics and Place­ment Team to pro­vide sup­port to the Clin­i­cal Man­ag­er in deliv­er­ing qual­i­ty services.
  • ensur­ing the effec­tive and effi­cient man­age­ment of RAHC’s clin­i­cal sup­port across the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry and man­age­ment of the clin­i­cal team pro­vid­ing this support
  • main­tain­ing pos­i­tive rela­tion­ships with HPs, health ser­vices, and stake­hold­ers with the goal of con­tin­u­ous growth of and improve­ment in the organisation
  • man­ag­ing the ongo­ing pro­fes­sion­al and career devel­op­ment of HPs includ­ing clin­i­cal sup­port, edu­ca­tion, train­ing, and mentoring
  • under­tak­ing Remote Edu­ca­tor place­ments out bush for 5 – 14 days sup­port­ing new remote health pro­fes­sion­als on their first remote placement.

To be suc­cess­ful in this role, you will have:

  • ter­tiary qual­i­fi­ca­tions a Reg­is­tered Nurse (RN) with cur­rent prac­tic­ing certificate.
  • recent clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence as an RN in the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry work­ing in remote abo­rig­i­nal communities
  • will­ing­ness and abil­i­ty to obtain asses­sor qual­i­fi­ca­tions and per­form assess­ments in Basic Life Sup­port and any oth­er manda­to­ry com­pe­ten­cy for HPs in remote health in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Clin­i­cal Team and Clin­i­cal Manager.
