Mater Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal Bund­aberg has been pro­vid­ing excel­lence in clin­i­cal and pas­toral care to the peo­ple of Bund­aberg and sur­rounds since 1946.

Locat­ed with­in the med­ical precinct on Bour­bong Street, our hos­pi­tal is a 59 bed facil­i­ty fea­tur­ing four oper­at­ing the­atres, a ful­ly equipped day surgery unit, and a wide range of spe­cial­ist clin­i­cal services.

Mater Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal Bundaberg’s peri­op­er­a­tive ser­vices com­prise of four oper­at­ing com­plex­es, four recov­ery bays, cen­tral ster­il­is­ing and a ded­i­cat­ed Day Surgery Unit. 

The The­atre Com­plex pro­vides pre- and post-oper­a­tive recov­ery room care, spe­cialised endo­scop­ic and laparo­scop­ic pro­ce­dures. Sur­gi­cal casemix includes bariatric, den­tal, endoscopy, ENT, gen­er­al surgery, gynae­col­o­gy, oph­thal­mol­o­gy, orthopaedics and urology

About the roles

Mul­ti­ple oppor­tu­ni­ties are avail­able with­in the fol­low­ing spe­cial­ty areas:

• Endoscopy
• Pre-Admis­sion
• Orthopaedic Scrub
• Gynae­col­o­gy Scrub
• Ears, Nose and Throat Scrub
• Recov­ery
• Anaes­thet­ics (high­ly desired)

We wel­come inter­est in full-time, part-time or casu­al positions. 

The Reg­is­tered Nurs­es pro­vides evi­dence-based and con­tem­po­rary patient-cen­tred clin­i­cal care in col­lab­o­ra­tion with oth­er mem­bers of the mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary health­care team. The deliv­ery of care extends to patient advo­ca­cy with par­tic­u­lar con­sid­er­a­tion to the phys­i­cal, emo­tion­al and spir­i­tu­al needs of patients that con­tribute to opti­mal clin­i­cal outcomes. 

The Reg­is­tered Nurs­es are respon­si­ble for ensur­ing the safe and effi­cient man­age­ment of care with­in the scope of prac­tice and pro­fes­sion­al guide­lines that include, but may not be lim­it­ed to: leg­is­la­tion, reg­u­la­tions, stan­dards, codes, qual­i­fi­ca­tions, reg­is­tra­tion and clin­i­cal competencies.

Salary range: $37.23 — $47.84 per hour (+ 25% load­ing for casu­als). The appro­pri­ate salary will be depen­dent on the peri­od of applic­a­ble pri­or expe­ri­ence as a Reg­is­tered Nurse.

About you

In order to be suc­cess­ful in this posi­tion, you will have: 

• Cur­rent AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion as a Divi­sion 1 (Reg­is­tered Nurse) with no prac­tice restrictions;
• Dig­i­tal and com­put­er pro­fi­cien­cy, extend­ing to Microsoft 365 applications;
• Full vac­ci­na­tion against COVID-19 and the abil­i­ty to pro­vide appro­pri­ate evi­dence as pre­scribed by Ser­vices Aus­tralia pri­or to commencement;
• Min­i­mum of one year post grad­u­ate peri­op­er­a­tive or Day Surgery expe­ri­ence. How­ev­er, if you have lim­it­ed peri­op­er­a­tive expe­ri­ence but have trans­ferrable skills train­ing is avail­able; and
• Aus­tralian Cit­i­zen­ship, per­ma­nent res­i­den­cy, a cur­rent work Visa with no restric­tions or an applic­a­ble ANMAC occu­pa­tion­al code if seek­ing Visa sponsorship
