SONOGRAPHER/RADIOGRAPHER — NOR­FOLK ISLAND 

Nor­folk Island Health and Res­i­den­tial Aged Care Ser­vices (NIHRACS) is com­mit­ted to improv­ing the care pro­vid­ed to our patients in line with our vision of work­ing togeth­er to improve the health and well­be­ing of our com­mu­ni­ty. NIHRACS is a mul­ti­pur­pose ser­vice includ­ing a Gen­er­al Prac­tice Clin­ic, Out­pa­tients, Emer­gency Ser­vice, 6 Acute beds and 10 Res­i­den­tial Aged Care Beds. The ser­vice oper­ates from a com­bined small hospital/​GP clin­ic set­ting with­in a mul­ti­pur­pose ser­vice model. 

The suc­cess­ful appli­cant will have a role in work­ing with oth­er health care pro­fes­sion­als to achieve pos­i­tive out­comes in over­all lev­els of health and well-being in the com­mu­ni­ty. This is a tem­po­rary full time 12 month posi­tion (35 hours per week). 

SELEC­TION CRITERIA: 

• Hold­er of Grad­u­ate Diplo­ma of Med­ical Sonog­ra­phy or equivalent. 

• Hold cur­rent ASAR reg­is­tra­tion and accreditation. 

• Demon­strat­ed exten­sive expe­ri­ence in Pae­di­atric, mus­cu­lo-skele­tal, small part and gen­er­al sonography.

• Demon­strat­ed use of effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, abil­i­ty to pro­vide a qual­i­ty ser­vice to all lev­els of per­son­nel and customers.

• Demon­strate clin­i­cal rea­son­ing skills in the per­for­mance of sono­graph­ic procedures.

• Pos­ses­sion of reg­is­tra­tion with Aus­tralian Health Prac­ti­tion­er Reg­u­la­tion Agency for Med­ical Radi­a­tion Prac­tice Board Pos­ses­sion of reg­is­tra­tion as Med­ical Radi­a­tion Prac­ti­tion­er with Aus­tralian Health Prac­ti­tion­er Reg­u­la­tion Agency.

• Pos­sess the appro­pri­ate E.P.A. I‑14 radi­a­tion license to use irra­di­at­ing equip­ment for med­ical diag­nos­tic radiation. 

• Demon­strat­ed under­stand­ing of the chal­lenges involved in work­ing in a remote area. 

• Cur­rent driver’s licence.
