About the Role… 

This role will pri­mar­i­ly work to address health care needs for Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple liv­ing in Anyinginy­i’s four remote com­mu­ni­ty ser­vice deliv­ery areas (Wogyala, Corel­la Creek, Mungkar­ta and Nuramin). 

In this role, you will be respon­si­ble for: 

• Triage and sup­port Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res clients in remote communities 
• Respond prompt­ly to all emer­gency health care needs 
• Col­lab­o­rate with a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary team 
• Con­duct assess­ments, immu­ni­sa­tions and treat­ments, includ­ing tele­health where required 
• Edu­ca­tion and Health promotion
  Con­tribute to clin­i­cal reports and research activities 
• Work to improve engage­ment and access by Abo­rig­i­nal clients liv­ing in remote com­mu­ni­ties to health services

Anyinginyi is an Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty-con­trolled organ­i­sa­tion com­mit­ted to achiev­ing health equi­ty for Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple in the Bark­ly region. About You…

• Reg­is­tered to prac­tice as an Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­er (min­i­mum Cer­tifi­cate IV in Abo­rig­i­nal and/​or Tor­res Strait Islander Pri­ma­ry Health Care Prac­tice) and have cur­rent AHPRA registration 
• Evi­denced under­stand­ing of the Pri­ma­ry Health Care system 
• Abil­i­ty to com­mu­ni­cate sen­si­tive­ly and cul­tur­al­ly appropriate 
• Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion to vac­ci­nate in the NT or abil­i­ty to achieve this 
• Respect for and respon­sive­ness to Abo­rig­i­nal cul­ture and protocols 
• Expe­ri­ence facil­i­tat­ing clin­i­cal education 
• Cur­rent Dri­ver’s licence 
• OCHRE Card (Work­ing with Chil­dren) or the abil­i­ty to apply 
• Be ful­ly Covid-19 vaccinated
