Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ʻClosing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.
Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients’ physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.
Anyinginyi’s mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

There is a supermarket similar to a large IGA store, Post Office, clothing and furniture stores, Pharmacy, Newsagent, two banks (ANZ & Westpac), restaurants and coffee shops and four hotels/motels. It also has sporting facilities (e.g. swimming pool, basketball courts, tennis court, football ground, car racing track), and several tourists attractions within easy reach Like our Beautiful Lake Mary Ann!
About the Role
This position provides a transport service for clients of Anyinginyi Health Services Clinic.
The ALO is a frontline customer service position and will ensure safe driving practices, appropriate behaviour, and acceptable appearance to maintain the integrity of the organisation, always working as a member of a high performing multi-disciplinary team and respecting Aboriginal values, beliefs, customs, language, and traditional practices.
More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Maintain and adhere to Anyinginyi policies and procedures including the Motor Vehicle Policy and rules regarding bus pick-up service.
- Drive in a safe manner and in accordance with NT traffic laws and regulations at all times.
- Drive Anyinginyi vehicles for the purposes of transporting patients from home to the Health Centre and return, responding in a timely manner to Health Centre calls for support. This may also include patients scheduled for hospital visits.
- Document and Report client/vehicle incidences in Logic that may occur during pick-up and travel.
- Ensure clients are aware that no food or drink is to be consumed on the bus. Always keep regular contact with Reception staff of the Health Centre.
- Promote and support an alcohol, tobacco and other drugs free workplace strategies and exemplify aligned behaviours.
- Work within limits of confidentiality and privacy as per Anyinginyi Health Policy. Maintain serviceability of vehicle including the daily lock up and security.
- Be alert to any potential mechanical, or other problems, and report to the Senior Administration Supervisor as a priority.
- Undertake weekly cleaning (internal and external) of vehicles with check of oil, water, fuel, correct tyre pressure, and spare equipment.
- Maintain serviceability of mobile phone.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent as this is an Aboriginal Identified position and demonstrated experience in driving a mini-bus and four wheel-drive vehicles.

- An Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s card) obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information.
- All Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation employees must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19.

- Current Drivers Licence.
