The aim of the Tran­si­tion to Prac­tice pro­gram is to cre­ate a sup­port­ed clin­i­cal path­way for nurs­es and pro­vide the skills and knowl­edge to prac­tice com­pe­tent­ly in Remote Pri­ma­ry Health Care (PHC).

The Pro­gram:

• We are look­ing for nurs­es with broad based expe­ri­ence. To qual­i­fy for the pro­gram you will need a min­i­mum of 3 years post grad­u­ate experience
• The pro­gram runs for twelve months based in a remote NT com­mu­ni­ty, employed at the N3 level
• After com­ple­tion of the 12 month pro­gram, par­tic­i­pants will be able to apply for a vacant N4 lev­el posi­tion, and be encour­aged to com­plete the grad­u­ate cer­tifi­cate in remote health prac­tice with Flinders University
• Relo­ca­tion to the com­mu­ni­ty and accom­mo­da­tion are provided 

Through­out the twelve months you will attend the fol­low­ing cours­es: Mater­ni­ty Emer­gency Course (MEC), Remote Emer­gency Course (REC), Tran­si­tion to Remote Nurse Prac­tice (TRAN to RAN), com­plet­ed online approved Vac­ci­na­tion Course

• Phar­ma­cother­a­peu­tics, as well as oth­er pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment opportunities
• Can­di­dates will com­plete: Essen­tial Train­ing, reflec­tive prac­tice on out­lined domains of care, observed con­sults, and a case study all of which are con­tained in the TEHS Tran­si­tion to Remote Pro­gram Prac­tice Workbook;
• Allo­cat­ed Remote Nurse Edu­ca­tion Team, to help and guide you along this jour­ney to offer sup­port, guid­ance and reg­u­lar vis­its to community
