As the Pri­ma­ry Health Cen­tre Man­ag­er you will be respon­si­ble for the day to day oper­a­tional and per­son­nel man­age­ment of the Pri­ma­ry Health Cen­tre; lead a small mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary health team and over­sight clin­i­cal gov­er­nance and safe prac­tice in all aspects of ser­vice deliv­ery. You will also be required to ensure that ser­vices are deliv­ered cost effec­tive­ly and cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate­ly to meet the needs of clients and their fam­i­lies. A knowl­edge of the Prin­ci­ples of Pri­ma­ry Health Care, Social Deter­mi­nants of Health and the issues affect­ing Abo­rig­i­nal Health out­comes are essen­tial for these positions.

This posi­tion requires broad based nurs­ing and man­age­ment expe­ri­ence, includ­ing pre­vi­ous clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence in a remote set­ting and have demon­strat­ed high­ly devel­oped clin­i­cal and man­age­ment knowl­edge. Appli­cants are required to hold cur­rent Remote Emer­gency Qual­i­fi­ca­tion, Mater­ni­ty Emer­gency Qual­i­fi­ca­tion and Vac­ci­na­tion Cer­tifi­cate. Appli­cants will have had expe­ri­ence dri­ving a man­u­al vehi­cle and be eli­gi­ble to obtain a NT driver’s licence and be required to trav­el via 4WD or light air­craft to remote com­mu­ni­ties in Cen­tral Aus­tralia. Appli­cants will be required to par­tic­i­pate in a 24/7 Emer­gency on Call ros­ter and may be required to pro­vide relief in oth­er remote sites at short notice.
