Testimonial from Kristy Wilholt (PRAN at Silver Chain)
“In April I was able to help save a life. I was called to attended with St John Ambulance to a 000 call for a client with chest pain.
We were able to quickly bring him back to the Health Centre were I was able to call for assistance from the Emergency Telehealth Service (ETS).
The man was having a heart attack and required Thrombolysis to help clear the blockage. I had the support and help from a great team including the ETS Doctor who was video linked in to talk to us all over an iPad, there was the St John Ambulance Volunteer and 2 Police officers as we treated and monitored the client.
We were able to organise an RFDS Flight to come and take the client to have cardiac surgery which saved his life.
Then 2 months later I received a call from the client to say he was travelling with his partner across the Nullarbor and he wanted to stop in and say thanks. When he arrived he had a beautiful bunch of flowers, but most of all he was amazed at how quickly we had seen him and sent him out to have the surgery he needed.
This is what makes working remote something special, helping to save lives”
