• The Com­pre­hen­sive Care Med­ical Ward at North West Region­al Hos­pi­tal is a 27 bed unit with a 15-bed Isolation/​Gen­er­al Med­i­cine Unit and an 8 bed Acute Med­ical Unit (AMU). The AMU pro­vides care to short stay patients. We spe­cialise in pro­vid­ing care to peo­ple liv­ing with com­plex med­ical con­di­tions includ­ing acute stroke, and in pal­lia­tive care nursing.

As a Reg­is­tered Nurse in our team, you will work to pro­vide safe high qual­i­ty care in part­ner­ship with patients, their fam­i­lies and the whole mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team.

• For nurs­es who are new to com­pre­hen­sive care med­ical nurs­ing, we are intro­duc­ing a sup­port­ed, struc­tured pro­gram of learn­ing over your first six months incor­po­rat­ing pal­lia­tive and end of life care, com­pre­hen­sive care, and nurs­ing care of acute and chron­ic med­ical issues for peo­ple liv­ing chron­ic con­di­tions- our Com­pre­hen­sive Care / Pal­lia­tive Care Tran­si­tion Program.
• For nurs­es with expe­ri­ence, and fur­ther qual­i­fi­ca­tions in med­ical nurs­ing and/​or pal­lia­tive care nurs­ing, ongo­ing pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment will be provided.

Regard­less of your stage of career, we have a pro­gram for you, and you will be sup­port­ed in your role by our Clin­i­cal Nurse Edu­ca­tors and Clin­i­cal Facilitators.

Details of Appointment

Per­ma­nent, part time, shift-work­er posi­tion work­ing 64 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing on suc­cess­ful application.

Base Salary: $69,835 — $96,428 per annum (pro rata) + 10.5% super­an­nu­a­tion + access to salary packaging

• Sup­port for appli­ca­tion to Grade 4 roles (salary range $90,293 — $96,428) is pro­vid­ed as part of our nurs­ing devel­op­ment program.
• Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2019
