Nowhere else will you expe­ri­ence the vast diver­si­ty of nurs­ing oth­er than in rur­al and remote cen­tral Aus­tralia, from out­back sun­sets to diverse friend­ly out­back com­mu­ni­ties, Pri­ma­ry and Pub­lic Health Care offers fan­tas­tic oppor­tu­ni­ties for Remote Area Nurses.

You will be liv­ing on a remote com­mu­ni­ty and work­ing with­in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary health team pro­vid­ing pri­ma­ry health care and emer­gency ser­vices in a cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate man­ner to meet the needs of clients and their fam­i­lies. Ser­vices are pro­vid­ed with­in a clin­i­cal gov­er­nance frame­work and there are fan­tas­tic learn­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties in all aspects of ser­vice delivery. 

This posi­tion requires exten­sive broad based clin­i­cal nurs­ing expe­ri­ence rel­e­vant to Pri­ma­ry Health Care prac­tice. Appli­cants are required to hold a cur­rent Remote Emer­gency qual­i­fi­ca­tion, Mater­ni­ty Emer­gency qual­i­fi­ca­tion and Vac­ci­na­tion Providers Cer­tifi­cate. Appli­cants will have expe­ri­ence dri­ving a man­u­al vehi­cle and be eli­gi­ble to obtain an NT dri­vers licence and be able to trav­el via 4WD or light air­craft to remote com­mu­ni­ties in Cen­tral Aus­tralia. Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to par­tic­i­pate in a 24/7 Emer­gency on Call ros­ter and may be required to pro­vide relief in oth­er remote sites at short notice.
