The Role:
An excep­tion­al oppor­tu­ni­ty has arisen for a dynam­ic clin­i­cal leader to join the West Coast Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal as an Asso­ciate Nurse Unit Man­ag­er. In this piv­otal role, you will work in part­ner­ship with the Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (NUM) and oth­er senior staff to ensure the effi­cient and effec­tive pro­vi­sion of care based on best prac­tice prin­ci­ples with­in a col­lab­o­ra­tive and mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary frame­work. You will assist the NUM with the plan­ning and man­age­ment of staff and resources, pro­vid­ing oper­a­tional lead­er­ship through the coor­di­na­tion of day-to-day patient care activ­i­ties, includ­ing patient flow. Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will include ensur­ing opti­mal patient care, main­tain­ing effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion chan­nels with stake­hold­ers, and pro­mot­ing a patient-focused mod­el of care accord­ing to best prac­tice principles.

We are seek­ing an enthu­si­as­tic indi­vid­ual with a deep under­stand­ing of rur­al health nurs­ing and a pas­sion for enhanc­ing patient care. Your role will involve fos­ter­ing a cul­ture of crit­i­cal think­ing, research, and con­tin­u­ous improve­ment. You will sup­port the NUM in admin­is­tra­tive and ser­vice deliv­ery plan­ning, dri­ving inno­v­a­tive ini­tia­tives in qual­i­ty safe­ty pro­grams and clin­i­cal prac­tice stan­dards. Your excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion and inter­per­son­al skills will be essen­tial in build­ing strong work­ing rela­tion­ships with staff and the com­mu­ni­ty. Your abil­i­ty to inspire, influ­ence, and deliv­er clear mes­sages will help ensure cohe­sive team­work and high stan­dards of care. Ide­al­ly, you will hold rel­e­vant post­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tions and have expe­ri­ence in Emer­gency Nursing.

Details of Appointment

Per­ma­nent, full time, day work­er (with on-call) posi­tion work­ing 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you are able to join the team

Salary: $103,466 — $109,165 per annum. Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10
  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type
