Pri­ma­ry Health North cur­rent­ly has mul­ti­ple new­ly cre­at­ed per­ma­nent full time and part time Asso­ciate Nurse Unit Man­ag­er posi­tions avail­able across a num­ber of North­ern Tas­man­ian hos­pi­tals. These posi­tions are at Flinders Island, George Town, St Marys, Scotts­dale and Deloraine.

The role:

The Asso­ciate Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (ANUM) is an expe­ri­enced nurse who, with­in the defined area of practice:

  • Works in part­ner­ship with the Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (NUM) and oth­er senior staff, to ensure the effi­cient and effec­tive pro­vi­sion of care based on best prac­tice prin­ci­ples with­in a col­lab­o­ra­tive and mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary framework. 
  • Assists the NUM with the plan­ning and man­age­ment of staff and resources and pro­vides oper­a­tional lead­er­ship through the coor­di­na­tion of the day-to-day patient care activ­i­ties, includ­ing patient flow.

  • Mul­ti­ple per­ma­nent, full time, and part-time, shift work­er posi­tions work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night at Flinders Island Mul­ti­pur­pose Centre.
  • Mul­ti­ple per­ma­nent full time and part-time, shift work­er posi­tions work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night at George Town Hospital.
  • Mul­ti­ple per­ma­nent, full time, and part-time, shift work­er posi­tions work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night at St Marys Com­mu­ni­ty Health Centre.
  • Per­ma­nent, part time, shift work­er posi­tion work­ing 36 hours per fort­night at Delo­raine Dis­trict Hospital.
  • Per­ma­nent, part time, shift work­er posi­tion work­ing 32 hours per fort­night at North East­ern Sol­diers Memo­r­i­al Hos­pi­tal, Scottsdale.

  • Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or fixed term full time, part time and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $103,446 — $109,165 pro rata, per annum. Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible.

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 — $102,908 is sub­ject to suc­cess­ful appli­ca­tion for pro­gres­sion to Grade 4

Pay­ment of $15,000 staged over three years is avail­able for Nurs­es and Mid­wives who move to Tas­ma­nia from inter­state and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relo­ca­tion allowance already available.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 
  • Dis­trict Allowances of up to $4618 per annum for a fam­i­ly (This allowance applies to appoint­ments at Flinders Island)
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10% (This allowance applies to appoint­ments at Flinders Island)
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 4
  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023 and Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Inter­im Agree­ment 2013

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria:

  1. Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse.

*Registration/​licences that are essen­tial require­ments of this role must remain cur­rent and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the sta­tus of these may be checked at any time dur­ing employ­ment. It is the employee’s respon­si­bil­i­ty to ensure that registration/​licences remain cur­rent and to advise the Employ­er if their cir­cum­stances change. This includes noti­fy­ing the Employ­er if a registration/​licence is revoked, can­celled or has its con­di­tions altered.
