Sev­er­al ongo­ing and fixed vacan­cies for up to 18 months are avail­able.

We are seek­ing an enthu­si­as­tic nurse to pro­vide a clin­i­cal ser­vice to adults sen­tenced and resid­ing at Alice Springs Cor­rec­tion­al Cen­tre (ASCC) with­in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary pri­ma­ry health ser­vice deliv­ery frame­work oper­at­ing 7 days per week offer­ing shift work opportunities.

The respon­si­bil­i­ties include treat­ing ill­ness, pro­mot­ing well­be­ing, and main­tain health sys­tems to bet­ter health out­comes for remand and sen­tenced pris­on­ers at the ASCC. 

The posi­tion reports to the Dis­trict Man­ag­er of Prison Health for pro­vid­ing appro­pri­ate, sound clin­i­cal and pro­fes­sion­al care, which affects the work process­es, ser­vices, and clients of the spe­cial­i­ty service.

You will be a reg­is­tered nurse hold­ing a cur­rent cer­tifi­cate of reg­is­tra­tion with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia. Addi­tion­al­ly, you will have a demon­strat­ed under­stand­ing of issues affect­ing Abo­rig­i­nal health and the prin­ci­ples of Pri­ma­ry Health Care. All enquires are welcome.
