To be successful, you will have…
- Eligibility for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively and harmoniously within a multidisciplinary health care team and independently.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and clinical/professional knowledge in the provision of breast cancer nursing care.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstrated well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills.
- Extensive knowledge and application of quality improvement, research and best practice principles.
- Possession of a current WA C Class drivers licence or equivalent.
Position Profile:
Provides leadership, operational management and nursing consultancy for the palliative care service with the region
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a Breast Cancer resource person for staff and patients and their significant others throughout the region.
- Provides clinical breast cancer nursing knowledge and case management within the WACHS region.
- Demonstrates leadership and role modelling.
- Promotes maintenance of clinical standard setting and monitoring, policy development and change management as required to improve the breast cancer patient’s management.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives — across a broad range of patient-facing roles — on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service — Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).
Area Profile
WACHS Kimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS. The Kimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over 34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of the population are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health, community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health, and support staff.
