Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position plays a key role within our finance team.

  • Join an inno­v­a­tive, val­ues based not-for-prof­it focused on improv­ing the health and well­be­ing of Australia’s remote and iso­lat­ed populations.
  • Based in our Cairns office, with hybrid work­ing avail­able from home.
  • Per­ma­nent, full time or part time (0.8) hours available

The role

Report­ing to the Chief Finan­cial Offi­cer, this posi­tion plays a key role with­in our finance team.

We are look­ing for a pro­fes­sion­al who has high atten­tion to detail, is proac­tive, and has strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills. This is a mul­ti­fac­eted posi­tion that will cov­er a vari­ety of admin­is­tra­tive functions. 

  • Han­dling accounts payable/​receiv­able and pay­roll duties.
  • Pro­cess­ing bank rec­on­cil­i­a­tions, end of month, and asset register.
  • Sup­port and assist in imple­ment­ing new process­es’ and workflows.
  • Pre­pare for­mal report­ing for fund­ing report­ing, man­age­ment accounts, and for our Exec­u­tive or Board as required.
  • Assist in man­ag­ing finance and account­ing activ­i­ties of the organ­i­sa­tion to ensure com­pli­ance and best practice.
  • Assist the Chief Finan­cial Offi­cer with key projects and priorities.
  • Sup­port and dri­ve process improve­ments across our workflows.

What we’re look­ing for

We are seek­ing a dri­ven pro­fes­sion­al ready to join our team and hit the ground running! 

  • A com­plet­ed under­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tion in account­ing, busi­ness, or similar. 
  • Min­i­mal­ly three (3) to five (5) years’ expe­ri­ence work­ing with­in a sim­i­lar finance position.
  • Strong tech­no­log­i­cal lit­er­a­cy with the abil­i­ty to work across mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary sys­tems and platforms.
  • Strong ana­lyt­i­cal skills, atten­tion to detail, and a dri­ve for inno­va­tion and best practice.
  • Abil­i­ty to build rap­port with a diverse range of stake­hold­ers and a com­mit­ment to our organ­i­sa­tion­al pur­pose and mission. 
  • A col­league who we see as a val­ues-fit for our organ­i­sa­tion and team, an all-round great person.
