As the Midwifery Unit Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering high-quality midwifery services. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, ensuring the highest standards of care, and driving continuous improvement in clinical practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead with Excellence: Provide leadership and support to midwifery staff, ensuring safe, women and family-focused care.
- Drive Clinical Governance: Uphold clinical standards and foster a culture of learning and innovation.
- Champion Women-Centred Care: Develop and implement evidence-based care models tailored to individual needs.
- Promote Professional Development: Encourage reflective practice and support ongoing learning and research initiatives.
- Foster Collaboration: Create a collaborative environment and support informed decision-making for women and families.
- Enhance Cultural Competence: Adapt services to meet the diverse needs of the community.
- Manage Resources: Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and quality improvement activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experienced Leader: Proven track record in advanced midwifery practice and service coordination.
- Strong Communicator: Exceptional leadership and management abilities.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in clinical information systems and quality improvement processes.
- Knowledgeable: Familiar with NMBA Midwife Standards, NSQHS Standards, and change management principles.
- Lifelong Learner: Commitment to continuous professional growth.
Essential Requirements:
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Midwife.
- Valid ‘C’ class motor vehicle licence.
- Ability to participate in an on-call roster and perform manual handling tasks.
- Compliance with respiratory protection and vaccination requirements.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery, Health Administration, or Management.
