About the Role:

As the Mid­wifery Unit Man­ag­er, you will play a cru­cial role in shap­ing and deliv­er­ing high-qual­i­ty mid­wifery ser­vices. You will be respon­si­ble for lead­ing a ded­i­cat­ed team, ensur­ing the high­est stan­dards of care, and dri­ving con­tin­u­ous improve­ment in clin­i­cal prac­tices. Key Respon­si­bil­i­ties:

  • Lead with Excel­lence: Pro­vide lead­er­ship and sup­port to mid­wifery staff, ensur­ing safe, women and fam­i­ly-focused care.
  • Dri­ve Clin­i­cal Gov­er­nance: Uphold clin­i­cal stan­dards and fos­ter a cul­ture of learn­ing and innovation.
  • Cham­pi­on Women-Cen­tred Care: Devel­op and imple­ment evi­dence-based care mod­els tai­lored to indi­vid­ual needs.
  • Pro­mote Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment: Encour­age reflec­tive prac­tice and sup­port ongo­ing learn­ing and research initiatives.
  • Fos­ter Col­lab­o­ra­tion: Cre­ate a col­lab­o­ra­tive envi­ron­ment and sup­port informed deci­sion-mak­ing for women and families.
  • Enhance Cul­tur­al Com­pe­tence: Adapt ser­vices to meet the diverse needs of the community.
  • Man­age Resources: Over­see bud­get man­age­ment, resource allo­ca­tion, and qual­i­ty improve­ment activities.

What We’re Look­ing For:

  • Expe­ri­enced Leader: Proven track record in advanced mid­wifery prac­tice and ser­vice coordination.
  • Strong Com­mu­ni­ca­tor: Excep­tion­al lead­er­ship and man­age­ment abilities.
  • Tech-Savvy: Pro­fi­cient in clin­i­cal infor­ma­tion sys­tems and qual­i­ty improve­ment processes.
  • Knowl­edge­able: Famil­iar with NMBA Mid­wife Stan­dards, NSQHS Stan­dards, and change man­age­ment principles.
  • Life­long Learn­er: Com­mit­ment to con­tin­u­ous pro­fes­sion­al growth.

Essen­tial Requirements:

  • Reg­is­tra­tion or eli­gi­bil­i­ty for reg­is­tra­tion as a Reg­is­tered Midwife.
  • Valid C’ class motor vehi­cle licence.
  • Abil­i­ty to par­tic­i­pate in an on-call ros­ter and per­form man­u­al han­dling tasks.
  • Com­pli­ance with res­pi­ra­to­ry pro­tec­tion and vac­ci­na­tion requirements.
  • Will­ing­ness to trav­el and stay overnight if needed.

Pre­ferred Qualifications:

Post­grad­u­ate qual­i­fi­ca­tions in Mid­wifery, Health Admin­is­tra­tion, or Management.
