Umbakumba is a very small community of with a population of 492 and is located east of Angurugu near Little Lagoon and Port Langdon on the northeast coast of Groote Eylandt, Northern Territory of Australia.

Umbakum­ba is part of the Anindilyak­wa Land Trust. Although remote and iso­lat­ed Groote Eylandt has a com­mer­cial air ser­vice which cur­rent­ly pro­vides a dai­ly direct route to Dar­win NT and three week­ly flights to Cairns, QLD

The Yinu­mar­ra Health Cen­tre pro­vides pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices to res­i­dents of Umbakum­ba. Many res­i­dents of Umbakum­ba com­mu­ni­ty expe­ri­ence high rates of Chron­ic Dis­eases and to com­bat the ill health of the com­mu­ni­ty the cen­tre staff pro­vide clients with var­i­ous health checks and assess­ments, with a Med­ical Offi­cer based at the cen­tre two to three days a week. 

As Umbakum­ba is a very iso­lat­ed loca­tion, the Cen­tre pro­vides a crit­i­cal ser­vice for res­i­dents and vis­i­tors seek­ing emer­gency med­ical assis­tance by enabling access to emer­gency sta­bil­i­sa­tion and med­ical retrieval ser­vices. The Cen­tre also pro­vides a base for vis­it­ing med­ical spe­cial­ists and oth­er health providers and sup­ports the vis­it­ing ser­vice by liais­ing with patients and facil­i­tat­ing client transportation. 

The Man­ag­er over­sees all oper­a­tions of the cen­tre, includ­ing, but not lim­it­ed to, health pro­grams and pro­mo­tion­al activ­i­ties, facil­i­ty, human resourc­ing, equip­ment, and con­sum­ables management.
