Mala’la Health Service is seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to lead the design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of strategic projects to achieve our objectives in Maningrida.

The suc­cess­ful appli­cant will have demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence and or rel­e­vant qual­i­fi­ca­tions in high-lev­el project man­age­ment, from sourc­ing fund­ing, project con­sul­ta­tion, design, imple­men­ta­tion, mon­i­tor­ing, review­ing to report­ing processes.

All suc­cess­ful appli­cants will have access to a range of ben­e­fits, including:

  • Ful­ly sub­sidised accom­mo­da­tion includ­ing util­i­ties pro­vid­ed in Maningrida
  • Attrac­tive Salary of $90,000 — $100,000 per annum depend­ing on qual­i­fi­ca­tions and experience
  • 11.5% Super­an­nu­a­tion
  • Relo­ca­tion Allowance available
  • Reten­tion Allowance
  • Trav­el Allowance of $4,000 per year
  • 6 weeks annu­al leave with 17.5% leave loading
  • Abil­i­ty to salary pack­age up to $15,900 per annum, plus a fur­ther $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment
  • Work with a com­mit­ted and pas­sion­ate team

About Mala’la

Mala’la Health Ser­vice is a respect­ed & accred­it­ed Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion pro­vid­ing ser­vices to the sea­side com­mu­ni­ty of Man­ingri­da (520 km east of Dar­win), with a pop­u­la­tion of approx­i­mate­ly 3,500 peo­ple. These ser­vices include Pri­ma­ry Health Care, Aged & Com­mu­ni­ty Care, Fam­i­ly & Com­mu­ni­ty Well­ness, Drugs & Alco­hol Ser­vices. Mala’la Health Ser­vice pro­vides Pri­ma­ry Health Care ser­vices to Man­ingri­da and sur­round­ing home­lands under a Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trol model. 

Essen­tial Requirements

The role will see you work­ing in a remote Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty. All appli­cants must have an under­stand­ing of, and com­mit­ment to Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trol, self-deter­mi­na­tion, and the issues faced by Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple liv­ing in remote settings.

  • Rel­e­vant qual­i­fi­ca­tions and or clear­ly demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence in high-lev­el project management 
  • Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence in strong com­mu­ni­ty rela­tion­ships in a remote, Indige­nous Com­mu­ni­ty context 
  • Demon­strat­ed pro­fi­cien­cy & com­pe­ten­cy in com­put­er skills and work­ing knowl­edge of soft­ware appli­ca­tions includ­ing Microsoft Office Pro­grams, Adobe, Canva
  • Sat­is­fac­to­ry Crim­i­nal His­to­ry Check
  • Cur­rent NT Work­ing with Chil­dren Clear­ance OCHRE card
  • Cur­rent Driver’s Licence & abil­i­ty to dri­ve man­u­al vehicle
