Our friend­ly team works close­ly togeth­er as part of the Depart­ment of Health to pro­vide car­ing, high-qual­i­ty sup­port to our com­mu­ni­ty. As a Reg­is­tered nurse, you’ll play an impor­tant role in deliv­er­ing a range of ser­vices — from acute, chron­ic, com­mu­ni­ty care to emer­gency sup­port — while being sup­port­ed through train­ing and team­work. We’re all here to help make sure the peo­ple of King Island get the best care pos­si­ble in a warm, respect­ful, and wel­com­ing environment.

The Role:

The Reg­is­tered Nurse:

  • Strength­ens health out­comes through the pro­vi­sion of safe qual­i­ty, clin­i­cal­ly appro­pri­ate nurs­ing care in part­ner­ship with patients/​clients, their fam­i­lies and oth­er health professionals.

You will need 

  • Demon­strat­ed clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence in Emer­gency Depart­ment and Acute Care, Aged Care expe­ri­ence would be a bonus.
  • Effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion and team­work skills
  • Abil­i­ty to pro­vide direc­tion and del­e­ga­tion to EN and PCA staff members.

Details of appoint­ment:

Fixed term, part time, shift work­er posi­tion, work­ing up to 48 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as pos­si­ble until 28 May 2026

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Region­al Allowances

  • Dis­trict Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10%

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates

  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able up to $15,000 for eli­gi­ble appointees from over­seas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. 
  • Pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and accel­er­at­ed pathways. 
  • A range of leave enti­tle­ments, includ­ing study leave and Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Support. 
  • Fit­ness Pass­port – You, and your fam­i­ly can access 40+ fit­ness facil­i­ties across Tas­ma­nia for just $13.95 per week per per­son, or $25.95 for a family.
