Overview
CRANAplus delivers educational courses to support and develop remote and isolated health professionals
CRANAplus offers in-person course workshops, online courses, and webinars tailored to rural and remote health practice. Designed for nurses, midwives and other health professionals, our courses are delivered around the country and online, making continued professional development accessible to rural and remote health workers.
Quality education can improve health outcomes and contribute to the retention of the skilled remote and isolated health workforce. Our nursing courses, midwifery courses and learning opportunities prepare course participants to effectively and safely handle the situations and presentations faced in rural and remote workplaces.
Courses include remote emergency care, emergency triage, mental health emergencies, our advanced life support course for nurses, our basic life support workshop, our MEC nursing program, and midwifery upskilling.

Tailored to remote practice
CRANAplus courses are tailored to the unique circumstances of rural and remote health. They consider factors such as lack of resources and distance from support, and focus on the complications and challenges faced in remote Australia. Our learning opportunities provide the highest level of preparedness, contribute to professional development and broaden your remote nursing skill set. Our face-to-face courses have an interactive and practical focus, allowing participants to practise skills at hands-on skills stations with expert oversight.

Developed and delivered by professionals
Our courses are designed and maintained by subject matter experts, utilising the evidence-based improvement strategies provided by the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards to improve the quality of health service provision in remote, rural and isolated practice. They are delivered by volunteer facilitators, highly skilled and experienced professionals who understand the challenges of working in remote and isolated areas. We'd love to hear from you if you're interested in volunteering.

Recognised within the industry
Our educational opportunities are supported by Australian Government Department of Health funding. CRANAplus is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 40719), with several courses delivering at least one Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency. Our courses could see you obtain your ALS certificate, REC certificate for nursing, basic life support certificate or other certification. Because remote health employers also value our training programs, course completion can help to increase employability in remote healthcare jobs.
