Across Aus­tralia, require­ments to be approved as a nurse or mid­wife immu­ni­sa­tion provider dif­fer vast­ly. Some states and ter­ri­to­ries require spe­cif­ic cours­es from spe­cif­ic uni­ver­si­ty or health depart­ment based providers. Some require pre­scribed clin­i­cal immu­ni­sa­tion expe­ri­ence. How­ev­er, most juris­dic­tions accept a range of immu­ni­sa­tion cours­es and list these publicly.

Health Edu­ca­tion Ser­vices Aus­tralia (HESA) is cur­rent­ly accred­it­ing immu­ni­sa­tion cours­es. Accred­it­ed cours­es are trans­fer­able nation­al­ly.
