Posi­tion Profile: 

The mid­wife works with­in a group prac­tice and pro­vides sup­port and back­up for the woman either at home or in the hos­pi­tal. The empha­sis is on the pro­vi­sion of safe, effec­tive care in col­lab­o­ra­tion with a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team. With­in the mid­wifery group prac­tice the woman and her fam­i­ly is cen­tral to the care and pro­vid­ed in a cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate manner.
