Tell me more… The Clin­i­cal Nurse demon­strates clin­i­cal lead­er­ship and man­age­ment qual­i­ties in the pro­vi­sion of qual­i­ty, cost effec­tive, patient/​client/​resident cen­tred nurs­ing care in con­sul­ta­tion with oth­er mem­bers of the health care team and in accor­dance with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­trali­a’s Nation­al com­pe­ten­cy stan­dards for the reg­is­tered nurse. They pro­vide best prac­tise nurs­ing care in the assess­ment and treat­ment of patients/​clients/​residents to pro­mote, main­tain and improve their health, func­tion­al abil­i­ty and qual­i­ty of life. They are a key mem­ber of the mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team, pro­vid­ing edu­ca­tion­al sup­port to oth­ers, plan­ning and eval­u­at­ing nurs­ing care and pro­vid­ing clin­i­cal super­vi­sion and nurs­ing lead­er­ship as required.
