We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Population Health Team in Karratha. This is for a Fixed Term Full-time appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

This posi­tion pro­motes the health and well- being of chil­dren, fam­i­lies and spe­cif­ic com­mu­ni­ty groups using a range of health pro­mo­tion, health edu­ca­tion, sur­veil­lance and ear­ly inter­ven­tion strate­gies that are based on the prin­ci­ples of pri­ma­ry health care and ser­vice priorities.

What we are look­ing for:

  • Pos­ses­sion of a cer­tifi­cate, diplo­ma in Child & Ado­les­cent Com­mu­ni­ty Health Nurs­ing (or equiv­a­lent) through an accred­it­ed insti­tu­tion with demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence and well devel­oped clin­i­cal nurs­ing skills in a Child and Com­mu­ni­ty Health setting.
  • Under­stand­ing of the prin­ci­ples and prac­tice of Pri­ma­ry Health Care and the appli­ca­tion to practice.
  • Demon­strat­ed effec­tive inter­per­son­al writ­ten and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills and abil­i­ty to com­mu­ni­cate across a diverse spec­trum of the population.
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to work inde­pen­dent­ly and as a mem­ber of a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team.
  • A cur­rent WA C class driver’s licence and the abil­i­ty and will­ing­ness to trav­el with­in the region with pos­si­ble overnight stays.
  • Demon­strat­ed knowl­edge and under­stand­ing of cul­tur­al issues and social deter­mi­nants par­tic­u­lar­ly relat­ing to Abo­rig­i­nal and cul­tur­al­ly and lin­guis­ti­cal­ly diverse com­mu­ni­ties in regional/​rural areas.
