Within a safety and quality framework and in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Director of Nursing - West Coast (DON), provide clinical leadership and support to the health care team by coordinating the provision of quality nursing and support services to inpatients, emergency presentations, and aged care residents.

The role:

  • This includes tak­ing a lead role in the devel­op­ment, imple­men­ta­tion, mon­i­tor­ing and eval­u­a­tion of qual­i­ty assur­ance mech­a­nisms that under­pin a qual­i­ty improve­ment pro­gram which is con­sis­tent with ser­vice deliv­ery plans and priorities.
  • In con­sul­ta­tion with the NUM proac­tive­ly direct, lead and par­tic­i­pate in the devel­op­ment of an edu­ca­tion and research cul­ture. Sup­port the NUM in devel­op­ing, imple­ment­ing, and eval­u­at­ing clin­i­cal prac­tice stan­dards, includ­ing mon­i­tor­ing clin­i­cal com­pe­tences of the health care team and as required indi­vid­ual team members.
  • As a senior mem­ber of the health care team, sup­port the NUM in a broad range of admin­is­tra­tive, ser­vice deliv­ery and busi­ness plan­ning issues relat­ing to the pro­vi­sion of acute, emer­gency and aged care ser­vices, includ­ing but not lim­it­ed to ACFI fund­ing, accred­i­ta­tion, con­tin­u­ous qual­i­ty improve­ment and leisure and lifestyle coordination.

Details of Appointment

Per­ma­nent, full time, day work­er (with on-call) posi­tion work­ing 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you are able to join the team

  • Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employ­er 11% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,533 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10
  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 
  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria:

  1. Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse
  2. Cur­rent Reg­is­tra­tion to Work with Vul­ner­a­ble People

*Registration/​licences that are essen­tial require­ments of this role must remain cur­rent and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the sta­tus of these may be checked at any time dur­ing employ­ment. It is the employee’s respon­si­bil­i­ty to ensure that registration/​licences remain cur­rent and to advise the Employ­er if their cir­cum­stances change. This includes noti­fy­ing the Employ­er if a registration/​licence is revoked, can­celled or has its con­di­tions altered.
