The role:

  • Facil­i­tate the devel­op­ment and main­te­nance of strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion links with­in the Agency and with oth­er gov­ern­ment and non-gov­ern­ment agen­cies, com­mu­ni­ty health ser­vice providers and oth­er key groups and con­sumers regard­ing health ser­vice priorities.

Bea­cons­field Dis­trict Health Ser­vice, locat­ed in the west Tamar region, is close to nation­al parks, nature reserves, beau­ti­ful beach­es and of course, West Tamar winer­ies! The list of things to do in this beau­ti­ful region is end­less, and all just 40 min­utes dri­ve along the high­way from Launceston.

As a senior leader in the Pri­ma­ry Health North team, you will lead a small team of com­mit­ted staff as they deliv­er the best pos­si­ble care and ser­vice to our res­i­dents, inpa­tients and com­mu­ni­ty clients. We are a mul­ti­pur­pose cen­tre and have

  • The ben­e­fit of being part of the Hos­pi­tals North net­work con­sist­ing of 1 ter­tiary hos­pi­tal, 8 rur­al hos­pi­tals and a vari­ety of com­mu­ni­ty services.
  • Recent­ly reopened our hos­pi­tal beds, so have 4 sub­a­cute beds along­side 18 res­i­den­tial beds. The GP prac­tice sup­port­ing our hos­pi­tal was recog­nised as the RACGP Tas­man­ian Gen­er­al Prac­tice of the Year 2024 
  • We offer day cen­tre, com­mu­ni­ty nurs­ing, home help and per­son­al care ser­vices and have vis­it­ing allied health and oth­er ser­vices. 2

Details of Appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day work­er posi­tion work­ing 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing from 27 Octo­ber 2024 until 29 March 2025.

  • Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or fixed term full time, part time and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $134,445 per annum. Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available:

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 4
  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023 and Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Inter­im Agree­ment 2013

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria:

  1. Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse.

    *Registration/​licences that are essen­tial require­ments of this role must remain cur­rent and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the sta­tus of these may be checked at any time dur­ing employ­ment. It is the employee’s respon­si­bil­i­ty to ensure that registration/​licences remain cur­rent and to advise the Employ­er if their cir­cum­stances change. This includes noti­fy­ing the Employ­er if a registration/​licence is revoked, can­celled or has its con­di­tions altered.

  1. Rel­e­vant post grad­u­ate qualifications
  2. Cur­rent Driver’s Licence
