Kutjungka Health Centre Manager

KAMS now has a rewarding opportunity for a Kutjungka Health Centre Manager to join their multidisciplinary team based in Balgo, WA. This role will be offered on a full-time 6 weeks on, two weeks off roster basis.

In this role, will be a Remote Area Nurse or an excep­tion­al Oper­a­tional leader and will pro­vide man­age­ment over­sight to Kutjung­ka Health Cen­tre staff, work as part of the mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team and be respon­si­ble for the deliv­ery of com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices and pro­grams (includ­ing emer­gency care) under the ACCHS Mod­el of Care.

Some of your key respon­si­bil­i­ties will include (but will not be lim­it­ed to):

  • Lead a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team and coor­di­nate exter­nal health ser­vice providers to pro­vide a qual­i­ty and com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care ser­vice to the com­mu­ni­ty under the KAMS Mod­el of Care;
  • Under­take the day to day oper­a­tional man­age­ment, staff super­vi­sion and coor­di­na­tion of health ser­vice deliv­ery at the health centre;
  • Man­age the oper­a­tional bud­get of the health cen­tre in con­sul­ta­tion with the Exec­u­tive Man­ag­er, Remote Ser­vices to ensure appro­pri­ate finan­cial man­age­ment and report­ing of the health cen­tre resources, includ­ing Medicare income generation;
  • Pro­mote and sup­port the role of the Abo­rig­i­nal health work­force as cru­cial to improv­ing health out­comes of Abo­rig­i­nal people;
  • Direct Clin­ic staff to coor­di­nate and pro­vide pro­fes­sion­al, evi­dence based pri­ma­ry health care to indi­vid­u­als, fam­i­lies and the com­mu­ni­ty util­is­ing a holis­tic and cul­tur­al­ly accept­able approach

About You

To be suc­cess­ful in this role, you will be a Reg­is­tered Nurse/​Practitioner and hold a cur­rent AHPRA Reg­is­tra­tion, with a min­i­mum 5 years post grad­u­ate expe­ri­ence. You will also have pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence in a sim­i­lar role and demon­strat­ed knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence in the deliv­ery of com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care, includ­ing emer­gency care. 

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date will have excel­lent lead­er­ship and man­age­ment skills and a strong under­stand­ing of cul­tur­al safe­ty includ­ing a com­mit­ment to the prin­ci­ples of Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty con­trol of health services.

KAMS is look­ing for an indi­vid­ual with high­ly devel­oped inter­per­son­al, com­mu­ni­ca­tion, and report writ­ing skills with the abil­i­ty to com­mu­ni­cate effec­tive­ly with Abo­rig­i­nal people.

While not essen­tial, can­di­dates with pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence work­ing with­in Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled Health Organ­i­sa­tions will be held in high regard. 

Your ded­i­ca­tion will be reward­ed with an attrac­tive remu­ner­a­tion pack­age $128 145 plus a range of ben­e­fits including:

  • Dis­trict allowance $2,740p.a.;
  • Accom­mo­da­tion pro­vid­ed whilst in the community
  • Annu­al Air­fares to the val­ue of $1,285 p.a (after 12 months of employment);
  • Iso­la­tion Air­fare $1,400
  • 25% of base salary for on call
  • Salary pack­ag­ing, up to $30,000 per annum
