Mala’la Health Service is seeking an experienced Coordinator to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Maningrida, NT.
As a Medicare Coordinator you will coordinate all services associated with the Medicare claiming process to ensure that claiming is at an optimal level.
The position requires frequent travels to Maningrida, so there would be preference for Darwin based applicants who can work from Mala’la Parap Office.
The successful applicant will have access to a range of benefits, including:
- Attractive Salary of $93,000 — $110,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience
- 11.5% Superannuation
- 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
- Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment
- Return travel to Maningrida with access to daily Travel Allowance while on-site in Maningrida

About Mala’la
Mala’la Health Service is a respected & accredited Aboriginal Corporation providing services to the seaside community of Maningrida (520 km east of Darwin), with a population of approximately 3,500 people. These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services. Mala’la Health Service provides Primary Health Care services to Maningrida and surrounding homelands under a Community Control model.
Essential Requirements
The role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings.

- Relevant qualifications and or experience with current Medicare claiming and change implemented by Medicare Australia
- Experience with Medicare billing processes including Practice Incentives Program (PIP) and Practice Nurse Incentives Program (PNIP)
- Working knowledge of Medicare HPOS and PRODA systems
- Well-developed competency in computer skills with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs and database systems
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check
- Current NT Working with Children Clearance OCHRE card
