Work­ing in a team of 2 with sup­port from Dar­win and Alice Springs Cen­tre for Dis­ease Con­trol med­ical and nurs­ing staff, the role is busy, inter­est­ing and dynam­ic as no two work days will be the same.
Deliv­er­ing front line ser­vices sup­port­ing the Sex­u­al Health and HIV pro­gram, Tuber­cu­lo­sis, Lep­rosy, Sur­veil­lance, Immu­ni­sa­tion, Rheumat­ic Heart Dis­ease and oth­er pub­lic health ini­tia­tives, includ­ing out­break response, requires a well-round­ed and expe­ri­enced prac­ti­tion­er. Excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills with oth­er health providers and diverse clients is essential. 

Ten­nant Creek is the heart of the out­back and is a busy and well ser­viced, friend­ly and thriv­ing town. It offers child­care, pri­ma­ry and sec­ondary school­ing, a pub­lic pool, pubs, clubs and restau­rants, a youth cen­tre with free excit­ing activ­i­ties, an excel­lent GP ser­vice and a local air­port with con­nect­ing flights to Dar­win and Alice Springs.
It is a 10 hour dri­ve to Dar­win, a 6 hour dri­ve to Mt Isa and a 4.5 hour dri­ve to Alice Springs, allow­ing access by plane to the east coast. The town also has a per­ma­nent vet­eri­nary ser­vice, lots of sport­ing clubs, a butch­er, newsagency, phar­ma­cy and a brand new IGA super­mar­ket. Maryann Dam is 5km north of Ten­nant Creek and offers a play­ground, BBQ’s, fish­ing, pad­dle board­ing, swim­ming and yabbying. 

The posi­tion comes with a secure 3 bed­room home, elec­tric­i­ty sub­si­dies, flights out of iso­lat­ed loca­tion (FOILS) twice a year, a freight allowance for gro­ceries from oth­er towns, no water bills, sup­port­ed study allowances, a month­ly PDO and the abil­i­ty to flexi time around fam­i­ly com­mit­ments.
