An excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty has become avail­able for a skilled nurs­ing pro­fes­sion­al to join the East Arn­hem Pop­u­la­tion and Pri­ma­ry Health Care (PPHC) team as a Remote Pri­ma­ry Health Care Nurse at Yinu­mar­ra Health Cen­tre – Umbakumba.

As a Pri­ma­ry Health Care Nurse you will employ spe­cial­ist nurs­ing expe­ri­ence, skills and applied knowl­edge and under­stand­ing of issues affect­ing Abo­rig­i­nal Health and the prin­ci­ples of Pri­ma­ry Health Care. You will demon­strate knowl­edge of sys­tem improve­ment, risk man­age­ment and clin­i­cal infor­ma­tion sys­tems with an over­ar­ch­ing com­mit­ment to safe­ty and quality.

Hous­ing for this posi­tion is based in the beau­ti­ful sea­side town of Alyan­gu­la, Groote Eylandt which is sit­u­at­ed rough­ly 50 kilo­me­tres from the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry main­land in the Gulf of Car­pen­taria. The Groote Eylandt Arch­i­pel­ago con­sists of 3 main com­mu­ni­ties and mul­ti­ple homelands/​outstations, with a pre­dom­i­nate­ly Abo­rig­i­nal pop­u­la­tion of rough­ly 2,800 people.
