About the role

This is an excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty to make a dif­fer­ence in remote Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ties from the com­fort of your own home! Join our Remote Ser­vices Team as a Tele­health Nurse pro­vid­ing cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate pri­ma­ry health care and access to after-hours emer­gency care. The Tele­health Nurse is respon­si­ble for pro­vid­ing clin­i­cal sup­port to clients out­side of reg­u­lar busi­ness hours (shifts 7 days per week (1700hrs – 0100hrs)) 

This role requires excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills and clin­i­cal judge­ment to assess client’s needs accu­rate­ly over the phone and to pro­vide med­ical advice that is appro­pri­ate to their con­text. Refer­ral to the local clin­ic team will be required on occa­sions either imme­di­ate­ly in an emer­gency or the fol­low­ing morning. 

The posi­tion sits with­in remote ser­vices and works with a team includ­ing a GP, Remote Area Nurs­es, Clin­ic Man­agers, Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­ers and MrACC.
