We are seeking Clinical Nurse Educator to facilitate and support the development of the nursing workforce by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs in the clinical setting/ward/unit.

The Team:

The Emer­gency Depart­ment (ED) team with­in Hos­pi­tals North plays a crit­i­cal role in pro­vid­ing imme­di­ate, life-sav­ing care to the com­mu­ni­ty. Com­pris­ing of emer­gency physi­cians, nurse prac­ti­tion­ers, reg­is­tered nurs­es, para­medics, allied health pro­fes­sion­als, and sup­port staff, the team works col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly to assess, diag­nose, and man­age acute med­ical con­di­tions. Their mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary approach ensures time­ly and effec­tive treat­ment for patients, while their inte­gra­tion with broad­er health ser­vices, such as pri­ma­ry care and pub­lic health, sup­ports holis­tic care and con­ti­nu­ity. Through their efforts, the ED team serves as the front­line respon­der, enhanc­ing health out­comes and con­tribut­ing to the over­all well-being of the community.

The Role:

  • Devel­op and deliv­er clin­i­cal edu­ca­tion programs.
  • Sup­port staff in clin­i­cal com­pe­ten­cy devel­op­ment and assessments.
  • Ensure com­pli­ance with cur­rent health­care stan­dards and practices.
  • Col­lab­o­rate with mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary teams to enhance patient care.
  • Men­tor and guide nurs­ing staff in pro­fes­sion­al development.

  • Must be reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse, with a require­ment to main­tain cur­rent and valid reg­is­tra­tion at all times.
  • Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence and high-lev­el knowl­edge in clin­i­cal nurs­ing prac­tice, along with the abil­i­ty to devel­op, imple­ment, and eval­u­ate pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment, edu­ca­tion, and train­ing pro­grams in a clin­i­cal setting.
  • Sound knowl­edge of con­tem­po­rary edu­ca­tion the­o­ries, health­care pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment trends, and the abil­i­ty to apply qual­i­ty improve­ment and research strate­gies to enhance nurs­ing edu­ca­tion and practice.

Addi­tion­al­ly, it pro­vides com­mu­ni­ty health, men­tal health, and pri­ma­ry health­care ser­vices to the Tas­man­ian com­mu­ni­ty through more than 300 sites.

Details of appointment:

Mul­ti­ple per­ma­nent, full time, day work­er posi­tions, work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you can join our team.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates:

  • Pay­ment of $15,000 staged over three years is avail­able for Nurs­es and Mid­wives who move to Tas­ma­nia from inter­state and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relo­ca­tion allowance already available.
  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able up to $15,000 for eli­gi­ble appointees from over­seas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. 
  • Pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and accel­er­at­ed pathways.
  • A range of leave enti­tle­ments, includ­ing study leave and Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Support.
  • Fit­ness Pass­port – You, and your fam­i­ly can access 40+ fit­ness facil­i­ties across Tas­ma­nia for just $13.95 per week per per­son, or $25.95 for a family.
