About the Role:
As the Clinical Nurse, you will play a key role in treating illness, promoting wellbeing, and maintaining health systems to improve health outcomes for remand and sentenced prisoners at Alice Springs Correctional Centre (ASCC). This role involves delivering primary health care services in a challenging and dynamic environment, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of the individuals in your care and works within a multidisciplinary primary health service delivery framework operating 7 days per week offering shift work opportunities.
You will report to the District Manager of Prison Health, providing sound clinical and professional care that positively impacts work processes, services, and clients within the speciality area.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Primary Health Care
- A graduate certificate in a relevant specialty area.
- Well-developed knowledge, skills, and experience in nursing, with an ability to act as a clinical resource for other staff.
- Ability to mentor and support junior staff and contribute to clinical education and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to meet the Northern Territory Correctional Services security clearance requirements
You’ll need to be adaptable to shift-based work, with a willingness to engage in a challenging yet rewarding healthcare environment in a correctional setting.
